Italian rangefinder shoulder support
« on: June 09, 2019, 12:33:24 AM »
A rather unusual design or 0.9 m rangefinder by San Giorgio. I gather it is pre- or wartime?
Sadly, I do not have Italian 0.9m to test this support

Keep your eyes peeled Zbig - you never know. It looks fairly hefty? ;)

It is a bit heavy, uncomfortable (stiff construction) and a bit too small for me  :P

Imagine it with the weight of the rangefinder on - whoever used it must have been a "hardy chiel" indeed.... ;)

Very nice accessory Zbig,

It's in wood or metal ? Surely less comfortable and functional than its counterpart Zeiss 0.7 m Rf

Very very heavy; I have seen some time ago the corresponding rangefinder (unfortunatelly very incomplete). Many parts in casting bronze.

Can you imagine the poor soldier whith thw harness on the shoulders ?

Very heavy indeed but it was not uncommon for soldiers of WW2 to carry 30 kgs of equipment...not mentioning Roman legionaries.... :P
