CTS Telescope Elevation No. 14 MK 3
« on: August 15, 2019, 09:56:10 AM »
Following the post on the CTS Telescope Elevation No8 Mk 1/2 (http://binopedia.info/index.php?topic=2687.new;topicseen#new)
here is a Cooke, Troughton & Simms (CTS) Telescope Elevation No. 14 MK3.  It has violet coated optics. So it must date after WWII.
It has a cross-hairs reticle, a detachable clip-on illumination unit, a levver focusing at the back and two filter glasses (grey, light blue).
I also show a picture of a CTS Telescope Bearing (No. 14 MK 3) on a tripod.
The only difference I see is the designation and its O.S. which is 1733 G.A. for the first one, 1732 G.A. for the second.

Nice Uli - I didn't realise they had filters inbuilt. For some reason the US ones during WW2 had filters but, as far as I'm aware, no British ones did until after 1945. I'll see if I can find my US one later. ;)
